Looking Ahead to the 2027 Lewis Danforth Scholarship

Are you graduating in 2027? Now is the perfect time to begin preparing for the Lewis Danforth Scholarship.

​

Throughout the coming year, focus on your academic success, remain active in your school and community, continue growing your faith, and look for opportunities to serve others. These experiences not only strengthen your scholarship application but also help shape the leader God has called you to become.

The Scholarship Committee will announce application information and eligibility requirements in the coming months. We encourage students and families to check back regularly for updates, important deadlines, and application materials.

ABOUT THE LEWIS DANFORTH SCHOLARSHIP

​

The Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church (TGNHMBC) provides the Lewis Danforth Scholarship as a resource to high school graduates who are members of our congregation to aid in continuing their education. The Lewis Danforth Scholarship committee will review each application that meets the following requirements:

• Applicant must be an active member of The Greater New Hope MBC 

• Applicant must demonstrate a Christian lifestyle

• Applicant must be active in a ministry/auxiliary at The Greater New Hope MBC

ABOUT THE LEWIS DANFORTH SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

​

The Lewis Danforth Scholarship application is thoughtfully reviewed, and each applicant is encouraged to submit a complete and well-prepared application packet. Once the application period opens, we encourage students to begin early—allowing plenty of time to gather required documents, verify transcript information, complete each section of the application, and carefully develop and revise their personal statement.

​

Preparation and meeting deadlines are important parts of the scholarship process, but they are also skills that will serve students well beyond graduation. Whether preparing for college, career, military service, or another opportunity, learning to plan ahead, follow instructions, and put your best work forward is part of the journey.

​

Start early. Be thoughtful. Be thorough. And give yourself the time to submit an application that represents you well.

​

A complete application packet consists of the following:​

1. Section A: Personal Information

2. Section B: Auxiliary Verification

3. Section C: Statement

4. Section D: Graduate Sunday Information; and

5. A copy of the applicant's transcripts. Official transcripts are not required; however, the information must be verified through the school office or student account portal.
