He Is Risen: A Time to Rise Again

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17

April brings with it Resurrection Sunday - a sacred reminder that death does not have the final say. Jesus' resurrection wasn't just a historical moment; it was a spiritual shift. Because He got up, we can get up. Because He lives, we have the power to live again - healed, restored, and reconciled.

This year, as we celebrate 100 years of ministry, we are reminded of God's faithfulness through every season. Our church has seen change, growth, and even some loss - but God has never left us. Just like He called Lazarus out of the tomb, He continues to call us to rise - out of complacency, out of shame, out of brokeness.

We're also reminded that resurrection is deeply connected to recovery. As an AAEW Faith Partner, we believe in second chances in freedom from bondage, and walking with people toward healing. Whether it's addiction, grief, bitterness, or despair, Jesus offers recovery through reconciliation - with God, with others, and even with ourselves.

As we ahead to the next 100 years, let us be a church that carries resurrection power - not just in word, but in action. Let us be a church that loves radically, forgives freely, and offers hope generously.

Your Call to Action

This month, consider where you need resurrection. What part of your life needs recovery, healing or a fresh start? Then ask God to breathe life into it.

Even more, consider who around you might be longing for the same. Invite someone to church. Encourage someone who's struggling. Get involved in outreach or support a ministry that brings healing to others.

This Resurrection season, don't just celebrate the empty tomb - be the hands and feet of the risen Christ.

He got up, so we should help others rise too.
